The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on August 10, 2026, issued the clarification regarding the implementation of "@valid" UPI IDs for all investor-facing collection bank accounts.
SEBI has clarified the implementation of standardised and validated “@valid” UPI IDs mandated for SEBI-registered intermediaries to enable investors to verify payment credentials through the SEBI Check facility. All bank accounts through which intermediaries receive funds, fees or any other monies from individual/non-institutional investors, where such accounts are directly accessible to investors for making payments, are required to be linked with a “@valid” UPI ID and made verifiable through SEBI Check.
Accordingly, all Depository Participants (DPs) are advised to take necessary steps to ensure compliance with the prescribed requirements within the timelines specified by SEBI.
